The Society for Creative Anachronism is an organization that seeks to encourage the study of history. As a household of many people our personal studies vary greatly. We have choosen to arrange the different types of study under four classes, based on the four card suits. We do plan on having a selection of essays discussing some of the history we have studied, but for now we offer our contact information for questions.

Hearts, from the traditional suit of cups.

In the Heart, we represent the Inn itself, historical cooking and period games. The head of the Hearts is called the Innkeeper, Lady Elisheva bat Yisrael, who is in charge of it all. Under the Innkeeper are our waitresses cooks, barkeeps, and game masters. If you have any questions about historical cooking or games Elisheva can be contacted at Elisheva@Crimsonspade.com

Spades, from the italian "spada" meaning "sword", derives from the traditional suit of swords.

The spade represents the sword, and thus those who study the sword and other forms of martial combat fall under this category. To head them all we call on the one we title Weaponmaster, Lord Raphael be Gideon. Under the Weaponsmaster are all our combatants on the rapier, heavy weapons, and archery fields, as well as our field marshals. If you have any questions about historical combat or the SCA combat scene. Raphael can be contacted at Raphael@Crimsonspade.com

Clubs, From the traditional suit, equal to the suit of staves.

The club represents the staff, such as those traditonally used by a herald. under clubs we place the visual arts and ceremonies. The head of the clubs is our Master of Ceremonies, Señor Diego Martin Antonio Vega de Palma. Under the Master of Ceremonies are all of our artisans (Including costumers), scribes, and heralds. If you have any questions about historical art or heraldry, or the SCA art and heraldry scene Diego can be contacted at Diego@Crimsonspade.com.

Diamonds, from the traditional suit of coins.

The Diamond represents the coin, under which we have our performers, actors, singers, musicians. The head of diamonds is known as the Stage Manager, Lord Gideon ben Levi. If you have any questions about historical performance or information on performance in the SCA, including booking performance time at the inn, Gideon can be contacted at Gideon@crimsonspade.com
