The Inn of the Crimson Spade is an establishment in the town of Cadiz in southern Spain. It was founded in the year 1520 by Elisheva bat Israel, Raphael ben Gideon, and Diego Antonio Vega de Palma. The Inn boasts a collection of games both local and foreign for use by the public.
The Inn of the Crimson Spade is a Household in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). The Society for Creative Anachronism is an organization that seeks to encourage the study of history. In the course of these studies members adopt a persona who represents a person from the time period of their choosing, before 1600 AD. For a bit of information on some of history that intrests us the most take a look at our Historical Studies page and learn a bit. The Inn of the Crimson Spade is built on the soil of the Barony of Lyondemere in the Kingdom of Caid, and offers period games and refreshments to the public.
As a household we offer many services to the Kingdom of Caid and the Society as a whole. We try our best to offer hospitality to the citizens of Caid. Any event that we attend we open our doors to anyone wishing some shade from the sun, some liquid refreshment, a bite to eat, or a bit of entertainment. We at the Crimson Spade offer a warm hearth to the lost and aimless subjects of Caid. We are especially welcome to the newcomers in this land and offer a helping hand or a word of advice when needed. Newcomers would do well to visit the Society's Newcomers Page, and contacting the Kingdom Chatelaine or the Castellan of Lyondemere
It is with considerable pride (and not a little trepidation) that the Inn of the Crimson Spade announces:
In an effort to refill our much-depleted coffers we are presenting an evening of drinking, dining, dancing, demonstrating delightful ditties and general woo hoo. We will offer bards and dancers from across the kingdom, the alcoholic alchemy of our own Diego Vega de Palma, and the gastronomic (and terpsichorean) wizardry of Elisheva bat Israel.
The event, which is no way associated with the Society, no no no, will begin at 7:00 pm on January 3, 2009, at Casa ben Levi (1519 Stearns Drive, Los Angeles CA 90035). Admission will be $11.00.
